Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) were both created to help you heal yourself by releasing the stress, tension, and trauma stored in your body so you can return to a state of balance. Both modalities have been used around the world to help first responders, veterans, and refugees, and survivors of natural disasters, wars, and accidents recover from serious traumas.

They're also used to help "regular" people get relief from whatever they've taken on through life experiences - emotions and experiences and beliefs that they have likely been carrying for far too long.

Learn about EFT

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. Also called Tapping, EFT is like emotional acupuncture. It combines ancient Chinese meridian therapy (the basis for acupuncture and acupressure) with modern understanding about the brain to produce powerful results - often quite quickly.

EFT involves feeling into a problem (an emotion, a physical symptom, a limiting belief) while using your fingers to tap on specific acupressure points on the head, face, and torso.

While it can look strange at first, you'll soon forget that as you may experience a lifting of burdens - whether troubling memories, physical symptoms (including pain), limiting beliefs about yourself, or fears of the future -  that may have been weighing you down for decades.

Indeed, EFT sometimes works so well at eliminating physical symptoms or the emotional charge around memories or beliefs that people sometimes forget what it was they were bothered by.

Numerous published, peer-reviewed studies now show that EFT is effective at reducing anxiety, disrupting danger signals from our brains, lowering stress hormones like cortisol, and even turning on protective gene expression while turning off genes that are associated with disease.

Learn about TRE

TRE stands for Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises. Developed by Dr. David Berceli, TRE allows you to initiate an innate healing mechanism that we share with other mammals - tremoring.

When we go through experiences that are upsetting or traumatic (really, anything that causes our brain to believe that we're unsafe), our bodies instinctively do what's necessary to protect us. That means triggering our fight, flight, or freeze response. Unfortunately, we don't often allow ourselves to release that survival response once the stressful event is over. So we stay tense and constricted and forget what it feels like to truly relax.

And the more often that stress response gets triggered, the easier it is for it to happen again, and for our bodies to get stuck in the "on" position (or sometimes with the "gas" and the "break" on at the same time). Think about how much energy it takes to sustain that level of vigilance.

TRE gives the body a chance to discharge all that stored survival stress without needing to talk about or even remember what happened.

You'll learn a series of seven simple exercises that tire and stretch specific muscles, culminating in an experience of shaking or vibrating that calms the nervous systems and releases tension in the muscles and fascia and that most people find pleasant and rejuvenating and some even find to be spiritual.
